There is not much street photography one can do in Iceland, for a simple reason that there are not many streets and people in Iceland. You can drive for 10-15 minutes along the main Icelandic highway (famous Route 1 that encircles the island) and not meet anyone. But Iceland compensates the lack of people by the abundance of unrivaled and unspoiled natural beauty, from waterfalls and geysers (did you know that the generic term ‘geyser” comes from the name of the Icelandic Great Geysir?) to volcanoes, glaciers, icebergs. So even a street photographer like myself cannot resist it and just clicks away at those gorgeous vistas. And then of course there are Icelandic sheep and horses, arguably some of the most endearing creatures in the world.
